FAQ
Why did you make this website?
I made this website to better develop an anthropology of boyhood. My goal is ultimately to understand my own inner child and what it is I love about boyhood. Concepts such as boyhood rituals, for instance, are something I look forward to examine and study through the lens of art, literature, folklore, and other media.
Where do you find all of the artwork you use for the site?
I mostly use websites such as the Internet Archive and Wikimedia to source the artwork for each article. Many museums (such as Louvre in France) have extensive online collections with artwork that may not be readily available on other public websites. Additionally, websites such as LookandLearn and Meisterdrucke host historical illustrations and fine art that I use here.
Can I suggest a topic for you to write about?
Maybe! I have a lot of material that I need to research and go through. Although the articles I write are rather short, finding the personal time to do so is the hard part. If you contact me and your subject interests me enough, I’ll consider it.
How can I become a contributor?
Please messsage me (see "Contact") describing in detail why you're interested in becoming a contributor. What brought you to the website? What are your thoughts on our articles, on boys, on boys in media, etc.
